Allah (swt) states:

“O men! Certainly the promises of Allah is true, let not then this present life deceive you, nor let the Chief Deceiver deceive you about Allah”(Surah of Fatir, 5).

This verse was interpreted as followed: Akhirah is sure to come; punishments and rewards will be given in all circumstances. Therefore do not dare let this life mislead you. Don’t say “enjoy today regardless of tomorrow” or forget your religious duties by delving into the world.

Afterlife should not be sacrificed for the sake of this earth. As youth fades away and old age beckons, life on earth is like a dream whereas Akhira is eternal. One should not allow the devil in deceiving them with Allah in the same way.

By saying ”Allah is Rahim, Gafur, Kerim and forgiving’ don’t be impelled into committing sins, inertia (laziness), laxity and therefore neglecting your duties.

Allah is truly as described, but do not be deceived by this. Not to fear Allah will result in being deprived from the blessings promised to Allah’s faithful followers.
