When asked

“we hear knowledge from you that have never been heard from the Sahabah’s. Where did you learn these?”

Huzeyfetubnul-Yemani(r.a.) replies

“I learnt these from our Prophet (saw), they were taught only to me.”

He also notes: “people continuously queried about the virtues and rewards of different good deeds and actions. I would ask them; ‘what would nullify certain deeds?’ and would notify them of the consequences and punishment of certain conducts in order for them not to cross that path. I did this as I know that good will not be known without the acknowledgement of wrongful acts. Our Prophet (saw) was the one who taught me these.”

A similar question was asked to Hasani Basrii(k.s.): “Eba Sa’id, no one has explained what we’ve heard from you before! Where did you learn these from?” In response Hasani basrii said: ” from Huzeyfetubnul- Yemanii.”
